Activities under the International Roma Day
Under the auspices of the International Day of Roma, the project "Civil Society Against Violent Extremism" is being implemented in Lezha. This project is implemented by the Albanian Helsinki Committee and is funded by the European Union. It is the Association of North Roma Integration who has given life to this project for families of Roma and Egyptian communities who live in Lezha.
In this framework, with the support of the Municipality of Lezha, were organized a number of activities aimed at social equality, education and integration of these communities. The opening of the exhibition with the works of children from the Roma and Egyptian community has been one of these activities. In the Gallery of the figurative arts of the Palace of Culture were exposed the best works that had "peace" as the main theme. The sculptor Ymer Metalia highlighted the talent of these children. While the Director of Education, Tourism and Culture at Lezha Municipality, Mr. Ardian Laci, on behalf of Mayor Fran Frrokaj, thanked the children for the accomplished work and promised the institution's support in encouraging these talents. The Chairman of the Association "Integration of the Roma Roma" Man Sinani expressed gratitude to all those who think and finance with integration projects for these communities. In the end, the children who had accomplished the best works were given prizes.
Activities in Lezha are ongoing all these days, labeled as the European Week of the Roma and Egyptian community.
