Tourism in Lezha is an important sector in the economic development of the area
Municipality of Lezha in its development strategy stresses as its main priority the strengthening of tourism and the increase of efficiency in this sector. The tourism industry as the most profitable industry is seen as a priority not only for seaside tourism but also for its mountain, historical, cultural, religious and culinary tourism. The recognition, identification and promotion of these tourist attractions in Lezha, have also been the subject of a seminar organized by the Mary Ward Loreto Foundation and the Municipality of Lezha. The meeting highlighted the need for cooperation with state institutions, business community, tourism agencies, various associations and foundations that could contribute to the improvement of tourist infrastructure, in order to make Lezha on this eve of the touristic season the most attractive destination for visitors, holidaymakers and foreign tourists.
The Red Cross Secretary of Lezha branch, Florinda Gjergji stressed that it is important to come up with ideas not only on improving the livelihoods of families in need, but also in the preparation and training of specialized experts according to European standards that help to increase the quality services in the tourism sector. While the head of the tourism sector at the Municipality of Lezha Gjergj Figuri, focused on the challenges and suggestions for a quantitative and qualitative tourism, highlighting as a priority the need for promotion. Representative of Mary Ward Loreto Foundation Aferdita Gjoni brought in this meeting a youth initiative of the Kallmet Administrative Unit, which through photographic exhibitions are promoting the tourist resources of this area mainly related to mountains, cultural, ethnographic and religious tourism. Afterwards, business and culinary representatives discussed the factors that make the quality of service and the
art of cooking successful, the owner of "Rhapsody" Alfred Marku, of "The Light of Light" Preç Ndoj, and of "Mizs of Arts" Altin Prenga also brought their experience and shared their perspective. In this seminar everything was in the service of tourism development and the increase of the number of foreign tourists, not only in the population of the beaches but also the increase of visitors to the other tourist spots in Lezha.
